How to play Arrows
In Arrows you clear a board of arrows. Tap one and it travels forward along its own line and off the board, but only if the squares straight ahead of its point are clear all the way to the edge. If something is in the way, nothing happens. Removing an arrow only makes room, so you can never get stuck.
Arrows rules
- The board is filled with arrows, each lying along its own line.
- Tap an arrow to send it forward. It leaves the board if every square in front of its point is empty, right up to the edge.
- If another arrow is in the way, the tapped arrow stays put and the obstruction flashes red.
- The goal is to clear every arrow from the board.
- You cannot get stuck. Taking an arrow away only empties squares, so any arrow that could leave still can.
- There is no wrong order, only a slower one.
How to clear an Arrows board
Start at the edges
Look along the outside of the board for arrows that point outwards with nothing in front of them. They can leave straight away. Each one you remove opens up a little more space for the arrows behind it.
Find what is blocking an arrow
When an arrow won't move, follow the direction it points and see which arrow is in its path. Clear that one first, or whatever is blocking that one. Working backwards like this turns a crowded board into a short chain of moves.
Look for the shape on big boards
On the larger boards the arrows often form a figure. Spotting the shape helps you see which groups point the same way and where the open lanes are, so you can clear whole sections at a time.
Playing Arrows in Vellara
In Vellara you simply tap an arrow. If its path is clear, it slides off the board. If not, the arrow that is in the way flashes red, so you can see straight away what to move first. When you can't find a move, the Hint button shows an arrow that can leave now. You can make the board smaller or larger, or fit it to your screen, which is handy on the big boards.
There are five levels. The easiest is an 8×8 board with fourteen arrows, all in one view; the hardest is a 28×28 board with eighty-six arrows that often form a shape. Every board can always be cleared.
A clock runs while you play, but there is no time pressure. Take as long as you like.

Arrows FAQ
Can I get stuck in Arrows?
No. Removing an arrow only frees up squares, so every arrow that could leave before can still leave afterwards. You can always finish the board.
Does the order in which I tap the arrows matter?
Not for the result. There is no wrong order, only a slower one: tapping an arrow that is blocked simply does nothing.
What happens when I tap an arrow that is blocked?
The arrow stays where it is and the arrow in its way flashes red, showing you what to clear first.
Is there a hint if I can't find a move?
Yes. The Hint button shows an arrow that can leave the board right now.
Is Arrows free in Vellara?
Yes. Vellara is free to download and play, and you don't need an account.
