How to play Spot the difference
Spot the difference is a picture puzzle with two almost identical images shown together. A few small details have been changed, such as a missing object, a different colour or an item that has moved. Compare the pictures and tap every spot that differs. The puzzle is solved when you have found all the differences.
The rules of Spot the difference
- Two pictures are shown together, side by side or one above the other.
- At first glance they look the same, but a fixed number of details differ between them.
- Compare the pictures part by part and tap a spot that is different.
- It does not matter which of the two pictures you tap.
- A counter shows how many differences you have found out of the total, for example 0 / 5.
- When you have found every difference, the puzzle is done.
A difference can be an object that is missing, added, moved, bigger or smaller, in another colour or turned the other way.
Tips for finding the differences
There is no logic to work out here, so a good method matters more than sharp eyes. These three habits help most.
Scan in small sections
Do not take in the whole picture at once. Split it into strips or quarters, compare the same section in both pictures, then move on to the next one. Know what to look for
Most differences come in a few kinds: an object that is missing or extra, a changed colour, a different size or position, or a different number of repeated items such as windows, flowers or stripes. Count the repeated things in both pictures. Check patterns and anything pointing left or right as well.
Rest your eyes and use the hint
