Director of Football
A football management game about the transfer market. You decide who is in the building, not who starts on Saturday.
Free on iOS and Android
You are not the coach. Somebody else picks the eleven. Somebody else decides the shape, and who starts on Saturday. Your job is different, and harder: you decide who is in the building at all.
Director of Football is a management game about the transfer market. You start near the foot of the English pyramid, at a club nobody has heard of, with a budget that does not cover a mistake. Above you sit fifty countries, three hundred clubs and sixty thousand players — and your scouts have heard of almost none of them.
What you actually do
- Sign and sell. Negotiate the fee, the wage and the length of the contract.
- Scout the world. Send a scout to a region and wait weeks for his report — an estimate, not a fact.
- Run the academy. Boys arrive at fifteen with a ceiling nobody can see.
- Watch the books. Wages every week, and a board that remembers exactly what it paid for.
- Build a fortune of your own. Put your salary into a player's transfer rights and take your cut when he moves.
- Take over a club. Buy the shares, take the boardroom, and set the budgets you used to beg for.
A career, not a season
A save runs for decades. Clubs rise and fall, rival directors take jobs and lose them, and your own name has to be earned, one division at a time. Get it wrong for long enough and you will be out of work, waiting for the phone to ring.

Questions about the game
Is Director of Football free?
Yes. It is free to download on iOS and Android. You see one full-screen ad at the end of a season, and none during your first four seasons. The browser version shows no ads.
Do I pick the team?
No. The coach picks the eleven and sets the shape. You decide who is in the building: who is signed, sold, scouted and developed.
What do I actually do?
You negotiate transfers, send scouts around the world, run the academy, watch the club's finances, invest your own salary in players' transfer rights and eventually buy a club.
How long does a game last?
A save runs for decades. Clubs rise and fall, rival directors take jobs and lose them, and you have to earn your name one division at a time.
